A Tale of Co-existence: A Passage to Bliss and Peace

Meet Sanjay Mathrani who is our UGrad alumnus and Exchange Ambassador from PUAN Jamshoro Chapter! Sanjay is an aspiring Pakistani Hindu from the beautiful land of Sindh but what makes him unique are his efforts for promoting the interfaith harmony. A day before start of Ramadan, he along with one of his friends decided to observe fasting the entire month to promote the message of peace & inter-faith unity and show unity with his Muslim fellows. Even during the last days of his UGrad Exchange Program in the U.S., Sanjay visited the Yuma Islamic Centre and helped administration in chores like cleaning, arranging the iftar, etc.
Sanjay is also running a campaign #AmanZindabad under which he is projecting the stories for the promotion of cooperation and peace in Pakistan. He is also training youth groups on how to curate content by respecting cultural sentiments of others to counter hate speech.
“I believe that participating in the rituals and cultural events of other faiths will help us to tolerate and accept the variety of narratives and discourses which is the essence of co-existence’, says Sanjay.
Here are some shots from his recent Iftar evening where the gathering was a beautiful collage of his friends from Hindu, Shia and Sunni sects with a common goal of promotion of religious tolerance and fraternity.
