Women2Women International Leadership Program Paves Iqra’s Path to Helping Others

Families, communities, and nations prosper when girls and women have the opportunity to participate fully in every aspect of society. Meet Iqra Ali Mirza who is our Women2Women International Leadership Program alumna. Iqra is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Psychology at NUST. Iqra completed her exchange program in 2022 and had the stellar opportunity of enrolling in courses offered by professors at Emerson College and Harvard Law School. The program broadened her horizon and instilled confidence in her by allowing her to engage with women from diverse backgrounds through dialogues and workshops.

Iqra is a women’s rights enthusiast who has been a writer for over twelve years. After completing the program, she has been writing mainly on subjects relating to women empowerment and education in digital publications. She believes that the exchange program equipped her with the necessary advocacy and leadership skills to catalyze change. Aiming to translate her insights, she currently mentors women from underprivileged communities seeking scholarship opportunities. Iqra reckons education is the fundamental pillar of success and strongly believes no one should be left behind owing to a lack of acquaintance with scholarship applications. She is grateful to all the alumni who offered her guidance and wishes to follow in their footsteps to support fellow alumni in the same field.
