TEA Program Enhances Professional Abilities

Rajesh Goswami is our alumnus of the TEA program (2015) which provided him an opportunity to improve his teaching skills. During the visit, he observed that learner-centered pedagogy was implemented in U.S. schools that not only helped students in the acquisition of knowledge pertaining to topics but also observed that lesson plan is important for the delivery of lessons. Therefore, the key areas consisted of the Socratic teaching method, the learning by doing method, and how to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students. Rajesh did a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Education from Institute for Educational Development Aga Khan University Karachi. TEA program improved his leadership qualities. He realized that education is not solely academic; the teacher must also educate their students mentally by teaching them the right skills needed to solve problems and socially by teaching them the skills needed to communicate and work productively with others.

Currently, he is working as Assistant Regional Director at Allama Iqbal Open University Regional Center Mithi Tharparkar, where he is empowering teachers and helping students to enhance their pedagogical skills through online and hybrid modes. Therefore, he was able to connect with students through the online mode of learning which not only helped them to improve their knowledge but also completion of courses on time.

TEA program experience changed the teaching methodology of Rajesh Goswami. He is grateful to USEFP for providing him with this wonderful opportunity which professionally enhanced him.
