Under today’s story for ‘Celebrating 75th Anniversary of U.S.-Pak Bilateral Ties’, meet our inspiring alumnus Mr. Qazi Fahad Ahmed who is a practicing lawyer and deals in the civil, cyber & taxation matters. Qazi is our SUSI for Student Leaders Fellow-2010. He completed his course on Comparative Public Policy from University of Massachusetts UMASS, Amherst. In 2019, he rendered his services as facilitator to the Summer Programs by Civic Initiative, University of Massachusetts UMASS, Amherst. Qazi has also served as an Honorary Counselor by PUAN for Anti-Harassment and Digital Security from 2020 to 2022, conducting virtual sessions to spread awareness about โThe Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA)โ- 2016.
In 2020-21, Fahad led an Alumni Small Grant (ASG) program to address Anti-Harassment and Digital Security, supported by U.S. Mission in Pakistan in partnership with Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN). The project paid special attention to eliminating the influence of harassment of all forms, especially Cybercrimes. The initiative was taken by Qazi with an ambition to make Harassment Free Society for all through promotion of digital safety and online trainings during the pandemic. Previously, Qazi Fahad has also remained the President of PUANโs Jamshoro Chapter from 2017 to 2020. As a firm believer in social engagement, Qazi advocates volunteerism and believes to serve humanity through community services. He works on Youth Capacity building programs. He occasionally contributes his opinions on social issues to the leading English newspapers of Pakistan as well.
