Amal Clooney Women’s Empowerment Award seeks to honor “young women who have succeeded against the odds to make a lasting difference in their communities.” Amal, the international law and human rights lawyer has been working with The Prince’s Trust since 2019 to personally select the recipients of the award. This year, the Amal Clooney Award has been given to PUAN member Tanzila Khan, a Pakistani disability rights activist, author, and motivational speaker. She has won Amal Clooney Award for her work in Pakistan on Menstrual Healthcare. Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and Amal Clooney granted this prestigious award to Tanzila Khan on stage at The Prince’s Trust TK Maxx and Homesense Awards 2022 at Theatre Royal Drury Lane on May 24, 2022 in London, England.
