Today’s tale is about our amazing exchange alumna Ayesha Shaikh.
Girls deserve opportunities to reach their dreams. Being a girl, it’s not easy to survive in this world because you’ve to put an extra effort to let society know and honor your struggle. This is story of an inspiring girl, Ayesha Shaikh, whose tireless efforts are a proof that every girl can make a difference. Ayesha belongs to an impoverished area of Sukkur, Sindh but what makes her different from others is that she always wanted her unique identity. She always wanted to stand out and fortunately, her family supported her in every way possible. Though her story is like other girls’ stories around the world, but how she carried it forward is completely unique.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, schools transitioned into online classes. Ayesha found that the increased screen time of online instruction has affected many students’ mental health. She observed how students tend to procrastinate and set things aside and how this phenomenon caused pressure, mental stress, and anxiety to them. These circumstances gave birth to a unique idea in Ayesha’s mind which led to fulfillment of her heartily desire of doing something out of the box. She established her nonprofit organization to render counseling services to the youth. These services included strategies for coping health issues, engage students in online earning, and charity. Noble cause always has positive outcome. To Ayesha’s utter surprise, something that she created out of a passion for the welfare of her country turned into a global sensation. She has also received Diana Award UK 2021 for her services. Her unique ideas and work with youth has been globally appreciated and this gives her immense happiness. Her beautiful journey started after attending an exchange program at the University of Iowa, USA and it’s still going on. To all the women, who think it’s difficult for them to live in a male-dominated society, stay assured that these are the challenges for you to encounter and that’s a way to succeed and prove yourself.
