During the past few weeks, the Honorary Counsellors (HCs) of the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) have organized 13 different sessions in their respective chapters. The primary objective of these sessions is to increase awareness about harassment and advocate for safety across various settings. These sessions covered a range of areas to raise awareness and promote safety. In addition to the previously mentioned topics, they also focused on the following areas:
- Cyber Harassment Awareness: The HCs addressed the issue of cyber harassment and educated participants on how to protect themselves online, recognize and respond to cyberbullying, and ensure digital safety.
- Teacher-Student Relationship in Madrassas (Religious Schools): The HCs delved into the topic of fostering a healthy teacher-student relationship in Madrassas. They discussed appropriate boundaries, effective communication, and the importance of creating a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Awareness through FM Radio: The HCs highlighted the power of FM radio as a medium for raising awareness. They explored how radio programs can be utilized to disseminate information, educate the public, and promote positive social change.
- Awareness for Girls’ Guides: The HCs focused on empowering girls through awareness campaigns tailored specifically for Girls’ Guides. These campaigns aimed to educate and equip girls with the knowledge and skills necessary to protect themselves, navigate challenges, and promote their well-being.
By addressing these additional themes, the HCs aimed to broaden the scope of awareness and safety promotion initiatives, ensuring a comprehensive approach to creating a safer and more informed community.
