PUANforPakistan: Webinar on E-businesses, Digital Skills and COVID-19

The U.S. Mission in Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) has launched a virtual series of discussions on topics and themes catering to the needs and interests of more than 32,000 alumni across Pakistan. Under its series of #PUANforPakistan, PUAN conducted a webinar titled, “E-businesses, Digital Skills and #COVID-19 ”on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 04:00 PM via Facebook live.

Panelists for the session included:

● Jehan Ara, IVLP alumna, President, Pakistan Software Houses Association, Karachi
● Maria Umar, Goldman Sach 10,000 Women alumna, Founder, Women Digital League, Lahore
● Saad Hamid, IVLP alumnus, Community Manager, Google, Islamabad

The session was moderated by:
● Cynia Ejaz, IVLP alumna, Sr. Community Manager, National Incubation Center, Islamabad

Overall, the session explored the digital & e-commerce landscape in Pakistan, the challenges and opportunities it entails & the importance of learning digital skills for economic development of the country, especially during the COVID-19 . Towards the end of the session, the panelists responded to the queries of viewers.
