PUAN Climate Change Expert Leading from Front

Did you know that The author of “Pakistan First Community-based Climate Change Curriculum” and “Pakistan’s First Declaration on Climate Change with Clerics of Pakistan” is none other than our every own Khadija Abid? Khadija is our Legislative Fellow Program alumna from PUAN’s Islamabad Chapter. She is a Policy Analyst and Climate Enthusiast by profession. She is expert in the areas of Climate Smart Disaster Risk Management and Protection & Gender Inclusion.
Khadija is a frontline advocate on issues of climate change in South Asia and Central Asia by spearheading various workshops on climate-smart lifestyle, environment and social responsibility etc. She has won various national and international awards including ‘Influential Women Award’ for her work in elevating suffering of communities due to changing climate in Pakistan. Moreover, she has also authored white paper on gender susceptibility due to changing climate in context to Pakistan on behalf of auxiliary body to government of Pakistan. Honoring her work, Pakistan’s National University has presented the prestigious Fatima Jinnah Award for Influential Pakistani women in leadership role for her work in elevating suffering of grassroots communities.
