PUAN Gwadar chapter recently celebrated its annual reunion. The event had two parts. The first part was an official reunion function whereas the second part comprised of outdoor activities. A total number of 50 participants including scholars, chapter alumni, students, and professionals attended the event.
In the official reunion program, vice president Shazia Akhter inaugurated the event and introduced PUAN and the work it has been doing for community development across the country. After that, a Tableau was performed by Bakshi Girls School students with the theme that depicted solidarity with the flood victims of the country having the message: “Let’s support flood victims; PUAN Gwadar Chapter stands in solidarity with flood victims”.
Tableau was followed by an insightful panel discussion which was moderated by a scholar Dawood Amjid. There were 5 panelists and the theme was “How to give back to community and steps of community building”. After the panel discussion, a song was sung by a singer which was prepared particularly for the PUAN Gwadar Chapter.
After the song, the leadership presented a presentation in which the alumni were informed about the chapter activities of the chapter and encouraged the new alumni to conduct community service projects. After the presentation, a female DEO ( District education officer), who was also the chief guest of the program gave the closing remarks, gifts, shields, certificates, and souvenirs to the participants and students who were active in the whole program. In the end, refreshment was served and then the alumni went for the outdoor activity.
𝐏𝐔𝐀𝐍 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐨 𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐰𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡: The second part of the event included the outdoor activity in which, initially, the alumni traveled to the beach for the sand art designed by sand artists. It was the highlight of the program. The beach sand sketch art of the logo of the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network was 11,400 square feet in size and was sketched on Gwadar beach by the Pasni Sand Art Circle team. This sand sketch art is one of its kind in terms of size in Pakistan and no bigger sand sketch art has been made to date. The sand art logo of PUAN was highly appreciated by the guests and alumni.
Later the participants traveled to the PADI ZIR café for networking refreshments. They were served tea and the alumni reconnected and shared their experiences. Following that, a musical program was arranged with dinner. The program officially ended with the closing remarks of the Vice President.
A female artist, Shabeena Mohammad Saleem was also present throughout the event. An art exhibition was arranged in the program hall where her paintings were displayed. The theme of her paintings was “Women empowerment”.
Concluding, the reunion objectives were to connect, inspire and empower. The new alumni were introduced to PUAN and they connected with the senior alumni. All of the alumni were excited to go back and serve their community under the banner of PUAN.
