Mobility International Exchange Inspires Pakistani Disability Leaders

Mobility exchange participants

On August 21, participants in this year’s U.S.-Pakistan Disability Leadership Exchange Program took time to share their experiences and lessons learned for the empowerment of people with disabilities throughout Pakistan.  International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) alumnus Muhammad Atif created the exchange in partnership with Mobility International, an organization he first encountered during his IVLP.  Since returning, the 20 disability leaders have worked to develop tools, ideas, and plans to address concerns of people with disabilities in Pakistan, including education, community-based support, policy and legislation, employment, and accessible transportation.
