Mentorship Program Links Senior and Student Alumni

MentorshipThe summer, U.S. Embassy Islamabad and the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) expanded the Alumni Mentorship Program nationwide. Forty young alumni of the YES, Global UGrad, and SUSI programs began summer internships, hosted by their senior alumni mentors from the IVLP and Fulbright programs.  Mentors are providing career guidance and supervise mentees’ projects.  Host locations include a women’s rights organization in Peshawar, hospitals in Lahore, radio stations in Karachi and Quetta, and government offices in Islamabad.

This program provides valuable job experiences for young alumni, builds stronger ties within our alumni network, and encourages our senior alumni to play active roles.  PUAN provides a small stipend to the young mentees to facilitate their participation in this program.

Want to become a mentor? Send us an email at PUAN@state.gov.
