Meet Our Inspiring Alumna Amna Nasir Who is Graduate of Business

Meet our inspiring alumna Amna Nasir. Amna is a graduate of Business Administration from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. She went to the U.S. on the UGRAD Exchange Program in 2020 and studied at Florida State University. During her exchange program, she volunteered to tutor foster children. With the assistance of the FSU Community Center, she used to go to the foster house and spend an hour or two with foster kids and help them do their homework.

After returning to Pakistan, Amna’s volunteerism in the U.S. shone as a ray of hope for destitute children. She started tutoring a few kids from nearby villages on her university campus. Later, she found that many kids from villages need proper care and attention. She along with her six friends visited villages to talk to kids’ parents.

“We started tutoring kids 5 days a week in the evening, one thing led to another, and we became over seventy students strong in a month with several university students volunteering to tutor. We were tutoring students beside the central library which brought it into the attention of the university’s administration too,” tells Amna.

As the numbers of students and volunteers increased, Amna named this initiative ‘Quaidian Tutors’. She formulated an implementation strategy, formed a management team, designed a unique curriculum, and started registration of volunteers. “It’s been almost 10 months since we have started and today we have approximately 150 students registered with us, and the university has given us special permission to use three classrooms in the History department,” says Amna Nasir. Amna has always been passionate about education and credits her project’s overwhelming success to her UGRAD experience. You are doing an amazing job girl and may you continue making progress by leaps and bounds.
