Kanwal Ahmed- A Beacon of Hope for South-Asian Women

Under the She Inspires Series, today we are featuring Kanwal Ahmed. Kanwal Ahmed is a Pakistani entrepreneur, activist, and talk show host. She created Soul Sisters Pakistan, a Facebook group designed for South Asian women to discuss “taboo” topics in a safe environment. She also hosts her own web-series, “Conversations with Kanwal,” which highlights female perspectives on social issues in each episode. Did you know that as part of the 16 Days Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, Kanwal partnered with U.S. Embassy Islamabad to produce two short documentaries highlighting Pakistani women working to combat gender-based violence in their communities?
