For a working woman journalist, a fellowship can be the best thing to reinvigorate her career, and this went well for Anam Hameed who is our alumna of the journalism exchange program. Anam applied for the U.S.- Pakistan professional partnership in journalism fellowship in 2016 and qualified for it. She always wanted to visit the U.S. to explore journalism and boost her professional experience and demonstrated a genuine passion for work.
Being in the field of Media and communication for the last 13 years Anam always loves to connect and communicate with people from different walks of life and different cultural backgrounds. “USEFP provided me a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills in journalism,” shared Anam.
She got an amazing opportunity to work in ABC-affiliated KVUE TV and closely monitored journalism in the U.S. According to her, it was one of the most happening trips that polished her skills and personality. This experience benefited her a lot and played a vital role in her success and helped her to groom herself professionally and personally. After returning to Pakistan, her former employer SAMAA T.V. also acknowledged her experience and promoted her.
“It was the best lifetime experience that is why recently I visited the U.S. again with my husband and explored the places which I wanted to visit in 2016 but couldn’t. I wish to visit America frequently to experience their hospitality and diverse culture.” Anam.
