Asadullah Faiz is our IVLP alumnus (2009). The theme of his exchange program was Accountability in Public Sector. “It was a very intensive program and a great opportunity to learn from new exposure and sharing of knowledge and experience.” It was a matter of great prestige when I was selected for International Visitors Leadership Programme at the invitation of the State Department of the U.S. in 2009. This visit spanned over a period of three weeks, including five states of the U.S.,” shard Asadullah Faiz.
After the visit, he had various opportunities to serve in senior positions of government at the federal and provincial levels. While serving as Director General of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency, he greatly benefited from the development model of San Diego, wherein the City Council developed the CBD on basis of Public Private Partnership. Later, he also applied the same learning experience of the public-private partnership while serving as Secretary of Tourism and Secretary of Youth Affairs & Sports in the Government of Punjab.
“A very candid and open discussion in State Department was a memorable experience and learned to discuss very controversial issues while keeping my calm and giving respect to contradictory opinions.” “In short, this exchange program resulted in a complete turnaround in approach to comprehending and handling the issues.” Asadullah Faiz.
