IVLP Alumnus Dr. Adil Najam Becomes WWF’s President

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) International has recently made an exciting announcement: Dr. Adil Najam, a renowned academic and policy expert, has been appointed as the organization’s next President. Dr. Najam will be taking over from the outgoing interim President, Neville Isdell, and will begin his role on July 1st.

Dr. Najam is a well-respected figure in the global academic community and has made significant contributions to the field of sustainable development. He is currently a professor at Boston University, where he directs the Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future. Dr. Najam has also served in a variety of leadership roles at international organizations, including the United Nations, where he was the Director of the Division of Sustainable Development.

In addition to his academic and policy work, Dr. Najam has a deep personal commitment to environmental sustainability. He has written extensively on the subject and has been recognized for his contributions to the field, including being named a Lead Author for the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.

Dr. Najam’s appointment as the President of WWF is a testament to his expertise and dedication to environmental sustainability. The IVLP is a prestigious program that brings emerging leaders from around the world to the United States to meet with their American counterparts and to learn about U.S. society, culture, and governance.

Dr. Najam’s appointment as the next President of WWF is a significant development for the organization and for the global community as a whole.
