Muhammad Usman Zaheer is our Fulbright alumnus. He went to study at the Colorado State University, Fort Collins (2014-2019). He studied Ph.D. with a major in Epidemiology. The Fulbright Ph.D. program at Colorado State University equipped him with the knowledge, expertise, and social capital necessary to contribute to the people of Pakistan through engagement in work that leads to food security, food safety, public health, and sustainable development. “It also enabled me to develop connections worldwide for collaboration and partnerships for the global public good,” shared Usman.
In his current role as Animal Health Lead with Health Security Partners, U.S.A, Usman is engaged in the capacity building of the government institutions for the containment of antimicrobial resistance, a brewing pandemic. In this role, he engages with disparate audiences ranging from policymakers, scientists, veterinary professionals, and livestock and poultry farmers.
