Fortune does not see richness or poverty; it can shine on anyone, and this is the moral of our today’s story. Our UGRAD alumnus Muhammad Shoaib belongs to a community where there is a common misconception that only people from elite class can study abroad m and can avail international travel opportunities. Shoaib proved all these misconceptions wrong by applying and qualifying for UGRAD Program. He is not only the first individual in his family but also the first student in his college who went to the U.S. for this prestigious exchange program. Shoaib completed 20 hours of community service in which he acquired skills such as time management, leadership, public speaking, and communications. At the University of Missouri, he was enrolled in courses ‘Global Water Issues’ and ‘Population-Environment and Sustainability’. Studying these courses in an international setting was entirely a new experience for him. “Being a cultural ambassador of Pakistan, I was honored to represent my country in the United States,” shared Shoaib. After returning to Pakistan, he started working on an awareness program titled ‘Save Water Save Balochistan’. In this program he will be sharing important techniques to secure water that he studied during his exchange program.
