Meet Shafaq Saleem, our English Works alumna and a successful businesswoman. Shafaq is a passionate and committed entrepreneur who loves to work for community. With characteristics like social responsibility, willingness to get involved, accountability to her community; she is a beautiful soul that embraces helpfulness and kindness.
They rightly say that difficult times often present unique and creative opportunities. During corona pandemic crisis, the world witnessed a worse economic downturn. It started accelerated digitization and a shift to online lifestyle which seems broad and irreversible. Shafaq also sought out the chance to support her fellow citizens by opening an online shopping store known as ‘Shopping Garo’. Her aim was to provide people less public exposure and a safer shopping experience. Given the then current situation and government restrictions on COVID-19, ‘Shopping Garo’ offered all the essential benefits that an online store should offer. The store offers customized products and specialized gift baskets with good price and quality. With fast delivery, good customer service, and secure payment method, the business succeeded in making its place in online shopping market in a short span of time. With implementation of excellent business strategies, Shafaq is still running her business successfully. With the broad expansion of product categories, ‘Shopping Garo’ is now providing customized products at large scale for corporate sector. It caters both local and international clients. Besides her business, Shafaq also performs her duties as Zonal Coordinator of Up-Country branches at Dr. Essa Laboratory and Diagnostics Centre.
Shafaq is truly grateful to the U.S. Mission in Pakistan for providing her the opportunity to be a part of ‘English Works’ Program and various other creative initiatives of Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) which empowered her to dream big and polished her skills to become best version of herself.
