Laila Jabeen is an early childhood development practitioner working from last 14 years. Jabeen has been recently officially selected as a “Global Leader for Young Children” in the 2022-2023-program cohort through World Forum Foundation. Laila has a Master’s degree in Sociology from Karachi University and an early childhood care and education courses from Mesa Community College USA in 2013-2014. From January 2009-April 2021 she has worked for Rupani Foundation, Pakistan and Afghanistan on different positions; early childhood parental educator, academic coordinator and an international ECD trainer. In May 2021, she has established her own ECD Teachers Training and Development Firm in Pakistan.
Laila Jabeen has also worked for Our Aim Foundation as a resource developer on child rights and mindfulness from November 2021 to December 2021.Laila has also served as a (volunteer) Parwaaz ECD Coordinator for Aga Khan local Education Board in Gilgit from July 2014 to December 2016 and ECD Parental Educator (volunteer) with ITRAB, Pakistan’s IBTIDA program Karimabad Center, Islamabad from July 2021 to October 2021.
Jabeen has conducted free advocacy sessions on “importance of ECD and parenting skills with more than 30 teachers and 50 mothers in the two districts of Gilgit Baltistan ; Skardu and Hunza in June ,2021. Currently, from January 2022 on date; Laila Jabeen is doing her assignment as an early childhood education’s lead trainer with Rupani Foundation, Afghanistan in collaboration with World Food Program-United Nation in Kabul. This assignment will end on March 20, 2022 and she will return back to Pakistan Laila’s current interest is to educate maximum ECD teachers and parents regarding the importance of early childhood development and care in both countries Pakistan and Afghanistan. Her second interest is to develop age wise milestone /learning activities for infant, toddlers and preschoolers for the daycares and early childhood centers. Her third interest is to educate pregnant women and mothers of infants and toddlers on the importance of brain development in the first 1000 days in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Laila Jabeen originally belongs to Ghalapan Village of Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan.
