Dania Hassan is a dynamic young girl of 22 years who is pursuing BS Economics and Mathematics at IBA Karachi. With her studies, she is simultaneously running a volunteer group titled ‘Fun to Learn’. Therefore, she is truly an inspiration for youth in the global community as a young leader and activist working to raise the quality of education throughout Pakistan.
The young talent Dania qualified for Summer Sisters Exchange Program in 2016 and attended summer school at John Hopkins University. After returning from US, she established an organization called “Fun to Learn,” through which teams of volunteers conduct extracurricular programming in underprivileged schools. ‘Fun to Learn’ has been involving underserved students in awareness creation sessions along-with character-building exercises for the past six years. Dania and her team have impacted more than 4000 individuals by now in Karachi. One of the biggest constraints that this volunteer group always faced was the lack of availability of funds. They never succeeded to get registered and consequently didn’t get funding from corporations or CSRs. But they remained optimistic and steadfast in their virtuous cause. Following the best strategy, they reduced costs, applied for PUAN Alumni Grants, crowdfunded, and continued their activities. The group even built a classroom in a government school for students who were previously being forced to study crammed up in a single room.
Dania appreciates her team and calls it a source of immense strength. She feels pride as most of her volunteer team comprises of young women; young women who are future leaders, mentors and change makers.
Dania Hassan would like to give credits to her team of girls, without whom, she could not have done it and we are super proud of all of them.
