Ayesha Launches GenderNet Innovation Lab to Accelerate Gender Equality in Pakistan

Ayesha Amin, a Global UGrad alumna from 2013, has launched her Alumni Small Grant (ASG) titled “GenderNet Innovation Lab: Using Technology to Accelerate Gender Equality.” The rationale behind this initiative is to improve young people’s understanding, skills, and motivation to design, launch, and scale sustainable tech-based or tech-enabled social enterprises for accelerating gender equality in Pakistan.

Amin believes that technology can be a powerful tool for social change, and she hopes that the GenderNet Innovation Lab will help to create a community of support for social innovators in Hyderabad, Jamshoro, and beyond. The lab will provide training, mentorship, and access to resources to help young people develop and launch their own social enterprises.

The GenderNet Innovation Lab is still in its early stages, but Amin is already seeing the potential for impact. She has already received applications from a number of promising social innovators, and she is excited to see what they will accomplish.

“I believe that the GenderNet Innovation Lab has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of young people in Pakistan,” said Amin. “I am committed to providing them with the resources and support they need to create a more gender-equal future.”

The GenderNet Innovation Lab is a welcome addition to the growing ecosystem of social enterprises in Pakistan. With Amin’s leadership and vision, the lab has the potential to help to accelerate gender equality in the country.
