If we wonโt speak up for our children then how can we expect them then to speak up for themselves? With the same notion in mind, Global UGrad 2019 alumna from Abbotabad, Areej Jehanzeb took the responsibility of educating street children about child abuse and its prevention.
Areej collaborated with Raanaa Child Welfare Organisation (an organisation founded by our IVLP Alumna Mahvesh Ali Khan to educate street children) to start a series of virtual awareness sessions on child sexual abuse and its prevention. During the virtual sessions, Areej used animated visual content to educate children about safe and unsafe touch, consent and significance of communication with parents & teachers for prevention of any unfortunate incident.
Areej acquired the knowledge and skill set to conduct these awareness session during her Exchange Program where she worked as a volunteer in Family Crisis Center in East Texas, U.S.
We need more people like you Areej. Keep the good work up!
