The Bahawalpur Chapter of Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) visited Lal Sohanra Safari Park for a community service activity in March 2014 that highlighted conservation of the flora and fauna of Bahawalpur. Alumni welcomed Spring by cleaning the park and planting hundreds of trees in the children’s park. The alums also raised awareness for local forest preservation by offering lessons to the community about kitchen gardening and livestock management that focused on alternate income sources that decrease deforestation.
