About 200 U.S. exchange alumni gathered in Skardu October 26 for the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) Gilgit-Baltistan Chapter’s annual reunion. Alumni traveled from all corners of the mountainous region, including Gilgit, Ghizer, Hunza, Ghanche and Kharmang.

Recently returned alumni spoke about their positive U.S. experiences, and heard presentations about successful alumni activities and grant projects.  Embassy staff recorded a greeting video that was shared at the event since current security restrictions prohibit staff travel to the region.  The program also included a Balti musical performance and a hiking trip to Sadpara Lake.

The Daily K2, Daily Baadshimal, Daily Salaam, and Daily Baidar News all covered the event with positive stories.
